2021 has seen home appreciation skyrocket. Here are the latest percentages showing year over year increase in home prices.

The House Price Index (HPI) from the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA): 18.8%

The S. National Home Price Index from S&P Case-Shiller: 18.6%

The Home Price Insights Report from CoreLogic: 18%

These increases are being seeing in all regions and at every price point. According to the latest Home Price Index from CoreLogic, each price range is seeing at least a 19% increase year-over-year. The Atlanta Metropolitan Area has seen 16.5% increase.

There has been a strong demand in single family housing and the low interest rates are driving the buyers out to take advantage of these great rates making this a wonderful time to list and sell your home.

Curious about what 2022 will bring? The forecasts call for more moderate increases for price appreciation. A survey of over 100 economists calls for a 5.12% appreciations level for next year.

If you owned a home over the past year, you have seen your household wealth grow substantially and you will also see another little boost in 2022. If you are thinking of selling and purchasing another home, now is a great time. You will have a wonderful gain on the sell of your current home and still be able to take advantage of the low interest rates on your next purchase.
