“Do what you do so well that they will want to see it again and bring their friends.” This quote from Walt Disney describes his dedication to the entire customer experience, something Kendra Sanders appreciates wholeheartedly and an experience her customers have come to count on.  Kendra grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, with her parents and two younger brothers. Her grandfather was an entrepreneur who started a family dry cleaning business that was eventually passed down to her Dad. She remembers helping out in the business from the time she could walk. She witnessed the business acumen of her grandparents and parents. They provided free donuts and coffee to their patrons on Saturday mornings, and if their customers couldn’t make it to the cleaners before closing time, they stayed open late, and even offered to drop dry cleaning at their customer’s home.  One of the most powerful lessons Kendra learned came as a young adult herself when she was working at the family business one day.  A customer approached her with a terrible attitude, and she simply mimicked that same tone back to her customer.  Her Mom watched the event transpire from across the room, and when the customer left, she promptly sat Kendra down for some gentle direction. Her Mom taught her that she should treat everyone with respect and dignity.  She wasn’t responsible for someone else’s attitude toward her, but she was definitely responsible for her own.  Kendra left that exchange feeling embarrassed and humbled.  And since that day, she has been committed to customer service the way it used to be in her grandparents day.   After high school, Kendra went to Southern University and earned a degree in Marketing. While there, she took a real estate course, which reminded her that, instead of money, her grandfather passed down rental properties to his children and grandchildren. She realized that the entrepreneurial fire she had witnessed could now become a reality in her own life if she took the leap toward real estate. So in 2001, she did just that, with the same focus on incredible customer service she had been immersed in her entire life.  She wanted her customers to know they could count on her commitment to that level of service, and that’s exactly how she became known for the mantra, ‘Count on Kendra’. Today, Kendra is known for customer service ‘the way it used to be’. She specializes in working with professionals in the educational, medical and technology industries. She’s especially skilled at helping those who are seeking to buy and sell simultaneously.  She’s also recognized for her patience and preparation in working with first time buyers. And of course, she believes everyone should be treated with the respect and dignity her grandparents and parents demonstrated throughout her life.   When she isn’t working, you can find Kendra and her family walking through park trails or on the beach. A trip to Paris is on her bucket list, and maybe even a trip to Disney. Their commitment to a phenomenal experience rings true for her both professionally and personally. And her family, friends and customers alike know they can count on that to continue.
